Here’s an update to the Dean Potter’s climb of the Delicate Arch. Dean Potter was interviewed on NPR. Go check it out.

In the Outside Online article Potter was quoted as saying, “I’m so in tune with rocks and nature. On any rock around the world, if I hurt the rock, I feel like I’m hurting myself.”
Potter admits to having rehearsed the route several times, to having other people on top of the Arch with him to take photos and video. So how much of a bond with nature was this or was it more publicity gone array?
This may not be over. If the Park Service proves that Potter indeed did damage to the Arch they will likely revisit their decision and possibly issue a fine.
