Halloween
Halloween is coming up and I want to encourage everyone to participate by scaring the crap out of yourselves and each other. We built a haunted house in our garage this year and I’m really looking forward to seeing the response from the neighborhood kids. If it goes well we’ll continue to do it each…
New Super 8 Films
Got two rolls of processed Super 8 film back yesterday. One of them I shot over three years ago when I lived in Tulsa! The only parts that didn’t turn out were some climbing scenes I shot in the Little Germany area. It was early evening, under trees and in one of the limestone corridors…
News
I am working on a new site – a complete overhaul of this site to be released hopefully within the month of October. I’d say I’m about 1/3 of the way there. Shit, maybe less now that I think about it. I’ve had so much going on I can’t even keep it all straight. Problem…
Wind River Range Pictures
Finally made some time to post pictures from my August trip to the Wind River Range/Cirque of the Towers in Wyoming. Unfortunately, I haven’t put together a trip report but you can read the captions below each picture. Related Images:
Fusionfortyseven.com changing to F47PRODUCTIONS.COM
Things are evolving. Fusionfortyseven.com is CHANGING to F47productions.com. The reason for the change is a migration to becoming more involved in aspects of production (web, film, video, story development, events). That doesn’t mean I will be doing away with the climbing side of the site – I will simply be expanding the purpose of the…
Bosch Drill Mod Complete
I recently modified my Bosch Bulldog hammer drill so that I can use external sealed lead-acid (SLA) 12 volt 3 Ah rechargeable batteries. This means more time drilling and less time dealing with drained batteries. Overall the process wasn’t that difficult. Just removed the handle of the drill and rewired the inside with some cord…
MELTDOWN
This is a screen capture from the National Weather Service page. I’ve always said that I’d rather it be too hot than too cold but this is crazy. Related Images:
Friends in Primal Quest
Primal Quest is an expedition adventure race taking place right now in southern Utah. My friends Andy and Jason Magness are two members of a five member team named Jen’s Men. This is a 400 mile race involving biking, treking, paddling, orienteering, rope-work, swimming, canyoneering….even horseback riding! To date, the team has done very well…
SONIC YOUTH – *New Album* Rather Ripped OUT TODAY
Being a die-hard SY fan I am always psyched when they put out a new album. I don’t even OWN this yet but I’ve listened to it on their site (sonicyouth.com) and it is awesome. I think this is a very marketable album which means that they will more than likely expand their fan base.…
One Last Delicate Arch Post…
After weeks of him-hawing around, Patagoina has finally made up it’s mind about the Delicate Arch ascent – they want Potter to apologize for the climb. Patagonia stated that they felt the climb was inappropriate and asked for an apology. Potter, in this post on The Piton, apologizes for the shortsightedness of his actions and…
